Braxton Family Values

The Braxton sisters fear that Trina’s weight gain and alcohol abuse are symptoms of a depression. They consult a family therapist, then surprise Trina with an intervention. After a rocky start, progress is made, and the sisters hold hands at the end.

Toni, her mother, and her sisters arrive at Tamar and Vince’s house in Los Angeles, where they’ll be staying while Toni is honored at a Lupus LA charity event. Tamar gives them an annoyingly detailed list of her “house rules” that she expects them to follow, as well as a “to-do” list of activities.

Vince meets with Toni’s sisters and proposes doing a family album. He’s not sure if Toni will be involved or not. Tamar is the only one who has reservations, since she wants to do her own album, and won’t do it without Toni. Towanda and Andre argue as they move into Toni’s house.

The sisters hang out at Toni’s house when Tamar shows up and pulls out a selection of adult magazines to try to discourage Toni from posing in Playboy. Toni finds this ridiculous since Playboy is way classier than these other rags, but the sisters have fun checking out the photos.

The girls’ father attends a family dinner causing a huge blow up with their mom. Towanda delivers separation papers to her husband. Traci commits to moving to Atlanta but Toni decides she is moving to LA jeopardizing the Braxton album.

Unhappy with the producer Vince has chosen for her, Tamar goes behind his back to meet with someone else. Traci considers opening a salon and Towanda attempts to whip Toni’s new assistant into shape.

Toni asks Traci to back her as a singer for a show in Indiana, and also asks Tamar to teach Traci the choreography, but the lesson takes a bad turn when Traci walks off the stage; and Trina meets Evelyns new boyfriend.

Toni has surgery; Andre writes a book; Tamar heads into the studio for the recording of her album Love and War.

Tamar tells her sisters how stressed she is about their upcoming gig in New York City. They haven’t sung together in a while and have little time to prepare. Terrence, the girls’ vocal coach, runs scales with the girls until Tamar interrupts, saying they don’t have time for Traci being unprepared. Terrence suggests they remove all the bad energy which offends Tamar.

Over lunch, Toni tells her sisters that she’s being inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. Toni asks her sisters to sing at the ceremony as a tribute to her. They are flattered and agree to do it, but worry they’ll have trouble working together without fighting.

Tamar and Vince clash during a trip to Chicago; Towanda shows off her new place, but her mood is dampened by a request from Andre; and Trinas husband suggests marriage counseling.

Mamma Braxton gives her reason as to why Vince pulled through such a rough medical state, and why her family is always there for one another.

All the sisters go shopping for Evelyn’s wedding dress in Atlanta. They all have opinions but are frustrated because Evelyn is being indecisive. Toni returns to L.A. while everyone else visits the Botanical Gardens as a possible wedding venue. They discuss music, but Evelyn’s not sure what she wants.

Evelyn calls off the wedding; Toni tells Tamar that she has parted ways with Vince; Gabe tries to make amends by confessing his transgressions against Trina to the family at dinner.

The reunion show, hosted by Wendy Williams, features the girls, Evelyn and Dr. Sherry. Toni discusses her work, Trina and Towanda explain their complicated marriages and Tamar comments on everything.

Trina calls a truce with Gabe for the kids and drops her band to focus on her solo career. Toni models for Autism cause at Fashion Week; Tamar and Vince meet potential surrogates to carry their baby.

Trina hustles to get ready for her music video shoot. Traci brushes up on her vocals, and sisters throw her a surprise birthday party. The girls worry about Evelyn and stage a diabetes intervention.

Toni receives a visit from her sisters while shooting a film in Canada. The girls go sightseeing and try to bond, but Tamar storms off after getting into a fight with Towanda.

Michael Braxton attempts to reunite his daughters. Tamar is tired of feeling attacked by her sisters; Toni makes new demands and Traci is getting ready to bolt.

The sisters tangle with relatives at dad’s birthday party, then rush to Atlanta when mom Evelyn is hospitalized. Toni meets with Babyface.

Trina contemplates a big move, and the sisters get caught up competing against each other in an intense cook-off. Tamar exposes a surprise in the oven.

Toni asks Trina to perform her songs at a concert, but Trina struggles during rehearsals. Evelyn moves to LA and makes Tamar take a parenting class.

Evelyn is ready to take the next step in her love life and dips into the dating pool. Trina makes a business decision that gets a dramatic response.

Traci and Trina face questions about their marriages at the Essence Festival. Toni works on her single with Babyface. Tamar promotes her new album.
