Medical resident Liv Moore becomes a zombie and loses her ambition until she begins working at the city morgue to gain access to brains that give her sustenance and allow her to maintain her humanity. She also learns that her new diet enables her to experience a victims memories that can be used to help solve the persons murder.

Livs newest corpse is a sociopathic hitman, and shes apathetically shocked to discover that she no longer feels emotions. Meanwhile, Marcy turns up as a full zombie and Ravi hopes that he can restore her in the hopes that it will lead to a cure for Liv.

The newest brain at the morgue is personal for Liv: its an adventurous girl that Liv voted out of her sorority house. While Liv and Clive try to determine if the girl was murdered, Major asks Clive for help finding Jerome.

Lt. Suzuki dedicates all of the police resources to finding the killer of a rich white girl who died of exposure after an eight-month disappearance. The girl gives birth before she dies, and Liv soon starts having maternal feelings toward the baby and everyone else around her. Meanwhile, Major tries to find out more about Julien, and Liv and Lowells relationship changes when he eats the wrong brain.

Means and opportunity coincide when Liv eats the brain of a murdered soldier... and the opportunity to shoot and kill Blaine arises. Meanwhile, Ravi nervously waits to see if the rat bite will turn him into a zombie, and Julien pays Major a visit.

When someone close to Major dies of an apparent suicide, Liv consumes the brains resulting in a mix of reality and paranoia. Clive questions Major and learns of a secret computer file that may contain important details in the investigation – and finding the killer.

Meanwhile, Blaine’s father makes a huge discovery, and Ravi delivers some bad news. Lastly, Evan has a big secret to share with Liv, and Major continues to struggle.

Detective Babineaux arrives at the crime scene of a wedding planner who was shot to death, and is shocked to realize that he used to date the victim. To make matters worse, we learn that the murder victim was stalking Detective Babineaux, and that he is now the number one suspect in her murder. Liv and Ravi pose as an engaged couple in order to infiltrate the victims wedding planning business. Meanwhile, Major is having a tough time dealing with Liv on stalker brains.

An actor is accidentally shot on the set of Livs favorite TV show--Zombie High--and she convinces Clive to let her help in the investigation. Meanwhile, Vaughn devises a loyalty test for Major, and Dale connects Blaine to the Meat Cute massacre.

The three newest bodies in Seattle turn up decapitated, leaving Liv without brains to eat to solve their murders. While she helps Clive anyway, Liv hears about a new drug dealer in Seattle. Meanwhile, Peyton turns to Ravi for support and considers quitting her job, and Major is forced to prove his loyalty to Max Rager when Vaughn learns that someone Major declared a non-zombie... is.

While investigating the murder of Eleanor Barba, a chef at a high-end restaurant, Liv consumes her brain and becomes an unrelenting perfectionist who knows just how to break a person to their very core. Meanwhile, Major is on a mission to find out who is betraying the commander.

Liv and Clive investigate the murder of Miss Teen Seattle beauty pageant contestant, Laurie-Beth Spano, who went into anaphylactic shock onstage in 1999 and ended up in a coma. At the time, police arrested rival contender Velma Charlet for spiking Laurie-Beths makeup and she was given a four-year sentence. In present day, Laurie-Beth has passed away and Clive has arrested Velma, for her murder. Velma claims to be innocent and Liv consumes Laurie-Beths brain in hopes of tracking down the murderer.

Liv and Clive investigate the death of an old school drag queen which leads Liv to eat and shift into the queen’s brain. Meanwhile, Ravi reaches out to Major with an interesting request.

As Liv, Ravi and Clive race to finalize the cure, Peyton faces a showdown with Blaine, and Major takes a bold gamble to save Seattle once and for all.
