S1E1 - Great Barrier Reef 2016-12-04

Ernie travels to the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of north-eastern Queensland and meets people who have made this beautiful part of the world their home. He catches up with Yindinji elder Gudju Gudju who shows him the mangrove swamps, explaining their importance to the reef as a nursery for the multitude of fish species that inhabit the reef. At James Cook University, Ernie meets Jamie, a toxinologist who is extremely passionate about his work with the deadly creatures that inhabit the ocean. Jamie shares with Ernie his goal to educate the world with his knowledge, with the hope of protecting our oceans and natural environments. Ernie also takes a scuba dive with diving instructor Erin, and finds out what her job and living on the Reef means to her; and he meets couple Gareth, a skipper, and his partner Teresa, also a toxinologist, who are raising a family on knowing and loving the Reef.

S1E2 - Uluru 2016-12-11

Ernie lands in Australia’s red centre in the middle of winter and meets some of the people who live near the iconic “Uluru”. He meets traditional Annangu owner Sammy and his partner Kathryn, and gets an insight into Sammy’s view of this special place. Ernie is also invited by National Parks ranger Melinda and the local Annangu elders to take part in a controlled burn. He learns more about Mal, a woman who has spent the last 10 years of her life working in the shadow of Uluru and getting to know the Annangu people. Ernie meets a group of Indigenous people taking part in a training program that’s been designed to give Indigenous people opportunities to gain employment in the hospitality industry. Ernie takes a flight over Uluru with chopper-pilot Dave, seeing the rock formations from above and learning how this adventurous and well-travelled country boy ended up at Uluru.

S1E3 - Kakadu 2016-12-18

In the northern part of Kakadu National Park, Ernie encounters crocodiles while taking a cruise up the East Alligator River with Binning man Neville. Ernie brushes up on his camera skills, getting a lesson from landscape and wild-life photographer Louise, who is originally from the UK. The pair spends a day taking pictures of the diverse wildlife on the Yellow Water Billabong and Louise shares her passion for photography and love for Kakadu. Ernie takes to the skies by helicopter to look out over some spectacular Kakadu with Steve, who left his life as a policeman in England to become a pilot in the NT. Ernie spends a day with Ranger Trevor, exploring rock art and finds out there are still many more ‘rock art’ sites in the area that are yet to be discovered. Ernie finds out more about Trevor, whose Indonesian father stowed away to Australia in the under carriage of a DC-10 aeroplane and grew up with the Binning people.

S2E1 - Cradle Mountain 2018-09-02

Ernie visits the breathtaking Cradle Mountain in Tasmania and meets a dedicated pilot, a focused young ranger, a wildlife conservationist and an insightful young Palawa man.

Ernie travels to Ikara also known as Wilpena Pound in the spectacular Flinders Ranges National Park in South Australia and meets an Adnyamathanha Elder, a passionate cultural guide, a young pilot and a National Parks ranger.

S2E3 - Wet Tropics 2018-09-16

Ernies trip to tropical North Queensland finds him meeting a respected Kuku Yalanji Elder, a river guide whos made a sea change and an environmentalist who is determined to change attitudes.

S2E4 - Great Ocean Road 2018-09-23

Ernie visits the Great Ocean Road and catches up with a local gunditjmara/ Kirrae Whurrong song man, he meets a passionate foodologist and spends time with an entrepreneur with a taste for adventure.

S2E5 - Waiben 2018-09-30

This week Ernie is in Weiben also known as the Thursday Island and meets a down to earth landscaper, an oyster farmer whos found his niche in the world and a Kaurereg Elder holding onto culture.

S2E6 - Kangaroo Island 2018-10-07

Ernie visits Kangaroo Island in South Australia and goes spotlighting with a local wildlife guide, shoots the breeze with an artistic couple and gets up close and personal with wild dolphins.

S2E7 - K'Gari 2018-10-26

Kgari, also known as Fraser Island is Ernies next destination. He meets up with a proud Butchulla man, a four wheel drive enthusiast and a determined woman with a special connection to whales.

S2E8 - Blue Mountains 2018-11-09

Ernie visits theBlue Mountains in NSW to meet up with an enthusiastic cave guide, a Gundungurra man maintaining his connection to Country and a nature lover who finds solace in this wilderness.

This week Ernie meets a Boonwurrung man with a love for the ocean, and an inspirational lady finding balance between farming and the environment and a marine biologist following her passion.

S3E11 - Gold Coast Hinterland 2019-08-21

The Gold Coast hinterland is located in South East Queensland, that comprises the Tweed Range, Nimmel Range, Tamborine Mountain, Numinbah Valley, eastern parts of the McPherson Range and western parts of suburban Gold Coast, such as Mudgeeraba. Known as Australias "best-kept secret", the area boasts rainforests with inviting swimming holes, tumbling water holes and chilled creeks. Ernie explores Yugambeh country first with a hot air balloonist, then through eyes of an artist and lastly, with the experiences of a young Traditional Owner.

S3E12 - Gold Coast 2019-08-28

Largely known for schoolies, theme parks and Margot Robbie, Queenslands Gold Coast is where metropolitan skyscrapers meet natural long sandy beaches. Its one of the countrys fastest-growing regions, but still maintains its pristine coastline which stretches 70km long. Here, Ernie finds out how life is for three Gold Coast residents; an actor, a young man embracing his culture and an ex iron woman and mother.

S3E13 - Strahan 2019-09-04

Ernie lands in the rugged North West Coast of Tasmania, a former port featuring Strahan Harbour and Risby Cove. Its one of the most isolated outposts of Australia, but beautiful, with the unspoiled beauty of the regions cold and wet landscape. The region has a haunting convict past, with the British bringing their most hardened criminals to the areas penal colony in the 1800s. With a population of only 600-odd, Ernie meets a steam train driver, explores the Macquarie Harbour with a skipper and visits thousand-year-old Huon Pines with a conservationist.

S3E14 - Port Lincoln 2019-09-11

Port Lincoln is a small harbour city on the Eyre Peninsula, largely known for its fishing industry and seafood delicacies. Here, Ernie meets an ex- oyster farming couple, he swims with wild sea lions (and a marine biologist) and learns about great white pointer sharks from a passionate skipper.

S3E15 - Bruny Island 2019-09-18

Beautiful Tassie wilderness region, Bruny Island offers the countrys most stunning bushwalks with fascinating wildlife from fairy penguins to fur seals, and plentiful birds for watching. Ernie explores its rugged coastline with a skipper, is taken birdwatching by a local enthusiast and shown Country by an Aboriginal leader.

S3E16 - Ceduna 2019-09-25

Ceduna is the small town located on the shores of Murat Bay on the west of the Eyre Peninsula. Its an Anglicised version of the Aboriginal Wirangu word "Chedoona", meaning to sit down and rest. It is the last township before crossing the dry and arid Nullabor Plain, which runs all the way to the west Country. Ernie visits Ceduna in South Australia and meets Felicity a softly-spoken pilot, Peter a dedicated footy fan and Perry a passionate fisherman and learns all about life in this small coastal town.
