After a sporting heros death, transgender activist Caz Davis finds himself stranded back in his hometown of Rūrangi.

Caz can’t bring himself to enter his childhood home with Gerald. He gets drunk with his old high school boyfriend Jem, whos more intrigued than shocked by Caz’s transition.

Heroes emerge as Caz, Anahera and Jem are thrust into the environmental debate dividing Rūrangi.

Anahera stands up to Aunty Beth on the marae, Caz returns to Auckland to seek out Ellie, and Jem experiences his first queer nightclub.

Caz is forced to watch the documentary about his dead lover, Anahera and Ellie have a karaoke duel, and Jem wants to go back in the closet.
