Self-destructive musician Lucky hasnt spoken to his family in years, but he packs up his battered old piano for a 4,000-mile road trip across Australia when he hears his estranged mother is dying.

Meg is beside herself when she loses all of hers and Luckys money. To make matters worse, they then run out of petrol.

Lucky starts to think he should give up when Meg takes off with his piano. Then, a snakebite gives him the wake-up call he needs.

Lucky finds himself paying the price for Megs misdemeanours. But thats just the start, things are about to get a whole lot worse.

Years after his adventure with Meg, Lucky struggles to adjust to his new life as a successful musician and its not long before Meg comes bursting back into his chaotic world.

As Meg continues the search for her mum in Cairns, Lucky tries to lay low to avoid his dubious past.

Wounded in the rainforest, Lucky is desperate to return to civilisation, but Meg wants to push on as they get close to finding her mother.

Trapped at the Wellfulness Commune, Lucky starts to unravel its secrets as Meg finally gets the chance to speak to her mother.
