""Madam, this is not the local beauty palour, its the police station"" Local farmer, Bob Crowley, is due to have his harvester repossessed. When Nick and Maggie escort the repo agent, Mr. Miller, to the farm arrive its been stolen. There is lots of finger pointing. Later that day Miller and his mates beat up Crowley. Maggie has a word to Bobs daughter Grace. Turns out that Grace and her boyfriend had ""hidden"" the harvester so that her father could collect the insurance so he wouldnt lose the farm. Needless-to-say she is charged. Meanwhile local handyman, David Tufnel is found dead. Wayne learns the hard way that whoever signs the body over to the morgue has to assist with the autopsy. On the personal front, Roz is trying to establish a beauty parlour at the watch-keepers house. Wayne doesnt get around to asking Tom for permission and when women start ringing the station for facials Roz is found out. Tom spits the dummy and closes her down before she really starts.

""Stand aside, Maggie on the case - what you got here Sherlock!"" Wayne are Roz are celebrating her new business when the phone rings — there has been a burglary at the local antique store, one of a spate of local break-ins. Whilst PJ is off with a ""girlfriend,"" Wayne is forced to stand guard all nite. Meanwhile Maggie and Nick arrest ""Blackjack"" Eagan, a ex-copper and hero of PJs. It turns out Eagan is hanging round Mt. Thomas to avoid some crims he had put away who are due to be released. Tom gets Nick to drop the charges so that Eagan will move on. Roz sees a pair of earrings the next day at a clients which is a match for stolen goods from an earlier burglary. It doesnt help the clients husband is an ex-crim. PJ makes Roz sign a formal statement, and as a result of telling police information she learned on the job, her business suffers. PJ gets the crim to finger the fence he brought the jewellery from, a travelling jewellery salesman and ""close"" friend of Chris. With the help of E

PJ interviews the man and asks him what makes him confess now. Roz and Wayne are assigned to look after a young girl. A man comes into the station claiming to be the girls father, the young girl Sally identifies him as her father, but Tom requires proof and the man refuses to identify himself. Nick clocks Roz driving at 19kms over the limit and issues her with a speeding ticket. She asks Wayne if he could have a word to Nick, otherwise Roz will lose her license and will be unable to do her mobile hairdressing business. A man comes into the station claiming to be the girls father, the young girl Sally identifies him as her father, but Tom requires proof and the man refuses to identify himself. Mrs Haughton turns up at the station and PJ tells her that her husband had made a full confession to the murder. She informs PJ that is not pos

Tom sends out Wayne to the Henderson farm to investigate some fence damage. While investigating the incident Wayne spots a car that appears to be broken down and he offers his assistance. As he approaches the car they occupants shoot Wayne and drive off. Wayne who is bleeding from the gun shot attempts to drag himself back to his vehicle to call for help, but he passes out. Meanwhile Maggie is trying to get hold of Wayne on the radio but is unsuccessful. A women who was passing by noticed the injured officer and uses the police radio in Waynes vehicle to call for help and Maggie and Nick rush out to the scene to assist. Maggie takes Roz to the hospital to see Wayne. Roz informs Wayne she wont be taking the job in Melbourne and that she loves him and doesnt know what

""Whats the point, Tom Croydon is stuck in the tenth century BC"" Maggie and Wayne are out at Mrs Harris place following up her missing tractor, they find the tractor on her farm. Mrs Harris believes that it is kids who had taken it. The Heelers suspect it is the son in law who has been harassing Mrs Harris but they cannot prove it. Roz talks to Mrs Harris about it and she informs Roz that Eric believed if he could shame his wife he might get her to shift back to the country. Its Police Week in Mount Thomas and the stations doors are thrown open to the public and the Boss has drawn up a roster for the Heelers to take tours. Someone is harassing an elderly farmer. Roz becomes support officer. Roz has applied for the administration position at Mount Thomas station and the Boss informs her that she has been selected to be interview by him and the Inspector. ""Thats right Doyle, I say!"" Roz Patterson is attending a local flea market when she is asked to give a presentation to the Country Womens Association. The Boss asks Wayne what Roz is going to talk about and he informs Tom that she will be talking on what its like the be a country policemans wife. Tom is miffed because they have never asked Nell. Nick catches Barry Taylor starkers down by the river. He claims he was washing in the river because he is homeless. Nick suspects he is a pervert. He claims he has lost his pack which is something between Mount Thomas and Brisbane. Nick is called out to the Imperial by Chris to find that Barry has locked himself in one of the rooms and is refusing to come out. Down at the station Barry tells Nick that he has lost everything - his home and his wife and kids have left him. Mr Wilkinson rings the police station stating that he has caught a local shop lifter. It turns out that the theft is Helen Burns and she is the wife of a solicitor. Maggie a

""Look here they brought in the dog squad, Annie Oakley and her mates"" Tom asks Chris Riley to identify the body of her ex-husband. Chris goes to the mortuary with the support of Tom and confirms that it is indeed her ex-husband Terry. Tom attends dawn parade for Anzac Day and Tom tells Chris that he saw Terry Kennedy at the dawn service. Chris tells Tom that his eyes are playing tricks on him and Tom responds that Chris has identified the wrong body. Chris tells Terry that Tom has seen him at the dawn service and it appears that Terry has $700.00 in outstanding fines. Chris tells Terry to take his fresh start and leave, Terry asks Chris to sell the pub and come away with him. Tom goes to the Imperial to see Chris and tells her to open the door or they can get a warrant instead. In the meantime Terry has escaped out of the window and down the drain pipe, but PJ is waiting for him. Tom tells Chris if he had buried the wrong man and not corrected the mistake it could have cost him his car

""Trouble is the eye and memory arent always reliable"" Wayne is out on patrol when he spots the white van that was reported stolen. Wayne radios back to inform that he will check it out and Nick instructions Wayne to start the van and he will send Maggie to pick up the patrol car. The owner of the van George Pearson comes into the station to pick up his van and states their are two missing leather jackets. A neighbour who witnessed Wayne checking out the van makes allegations that Wayne is responsible for the missing jackets. PJ interviews the neighbour to establish the facts of what he exactly witnessed and the neighbour believes that it will be a police cover-up to protect the officer. Tom pulls Maggie into his office to ask her about the vans contents. Maggie states that she was just there to pick up the van and there is nothing out of the ordinary. The Boss then speaks to Wayne about what happened and he asks Wayne if he carried anything away from the back of the van. Wayne denies

PJ meets his match when an old flame comes to town to solve a cattle duffing problem. Accused of theft, a woman charges her boss with sexual harassment.

Roz is assigned to help a boozing local constable after a case of bird-smuggling comes to light.

It appears that Bill Todd, owner of the local meatworks, is making a fortune by selling inferior carcasses as quality meat ”but visiting Inspector Faulkner insists that any action be postponed until after his launch of the local Safety House Scheme. PJ pressures a young burglar into confessing and later, the boy is found beaten.

Maggie and Nick pull up Charlie Clarke for talking on his mobile phone and are surprised to discover the caller on the other end is no other than the boss. It turns out that Charlie was on his way to do a job at Clancys halfway house when theres a crisis. His attractive housemate Leonie, isnt feeling well and Aunty Chris takes her to the doctor, only to discover that shes pregnant! Clancy happily admits to having forced Leonie to have sex. Adam gets an admirer of his own when he assists the pretty eighteen year old daughter of one of the duck shooters after she is injured in the melee. This is Stacey Norse, whose father Ken accuses the chief protester, Matthew Prentice, of stealing one of his ducks. Troubles escalate when Ken Norse falls seriously ill while eating his specially prepared duck lunch at the Imperial Hotel. When Zoe suspects poisoning, the Heelers wonder if it might have been Matthew Prentice, but when blood tests show that Norse is actually suffering from a severe case of lead poisoning, they must rethink the case. A band travelling through Mt. Thomas cause a stir with the young people of the town, but Tom is worried by their presence. A vandalised angel in the cemetery relates to the bands signature song ""Bloodstained Angels"" and then a blazing car in the car park of the Commercial Hotel conjures up another line of lyrics from the same song. Meanwhile, a father seeks the help of the police in rescuing his son from the spell of the ""demonic band"". Tom is sympathetic, but there is only so much the local police sergeant can do, despite the gallery of death and destruction on the boys bedroom walls. By now the peace of Mount Thomas appears to be shattering and the Heelers must determine whether they are looking for a publicity stunt, an avenging father or an adoring fan. Adam and Dash are called to a disturbance to find a lonely farmer banging at the door of what turns out to be a dating agency. Investigations reveal the farmer has paid a fortune to the agency without ever having had a date, but his fear of exposure and humiliation make him reluctant to lay an official complaint. Adam is getting married. Its a bit fast, but his friends and colleagues are there.

Maggie and PJ are in serious trouble when an investigation into a suspicious goldmine goes wrong, and they find themselves trapped. Two newcomers in town, Matt Kinsella and Jamie Burgess claim that the goldmine is theirs, but old Hec OFarrell, who has been working the mine for as long as anyone can remember, insists that Matt and Jamie are the trespassers—and whats more, theyve stolen his gold dust. When the Heelers are called in to investigate vandalised graves at the Mt. Thomas cemetery, Tom discovers that Nells grave site is amongst the desecrated. The vandals have spray-painted an obscenity on the headstone and Toms deep hurt, fuelled by rage, drives the Heelers to find the culprits. Father Brian Hegarty points out that only the Catholic section of the cemetery was attacked, and that the Blue Lite basketball team was thrashed by St Stephens last night. As the coach of the Blue Liters, Nick defends his players. But then evidence gives the Heelers cause to suspect Jed Russell, one of the teenagers on the team who is a Legacy charge of Toms and Tom rises to Jeds defence. Nick, Maggie and PJ have to work hard to persuade Tom to let down his protective guard and interrogate Jed. The following night, Father Brian takes it upon himself to do some undercover work at the cemetery and has to call on the Heelers again. As Maggie and PJ are investigating what caused five teenagers to collapse at a local nightclub, Adam and Dash are consoling a farmers son whose goat has died under suspicious circumstances. He suspects the neighbouring farmer—the irascible Albie OConnell—but Adam and Dash are unable to find any evidence of foul play. When a sixth teenager is found unconscious in an alleyway, the Heelers realise someone is flooding Mt. Thomas with home-made amphetamines. But who? A possible answer comes in the form of a couple of new bikers that Adam and Dash see riding into town. Perhaps they have joined forces with the local gang, the Legends, to manufacture amphetamines? A chat with the bikers reveals nothing helpful, but the Heelers remain convinced of their involvement when a newcomer to town is found beaten up by someone using chains and knuckle-dusters. A baby disappears in suspicious circumstances, but only Adam believes the mothers story when she claims the child was kidnapped. The womans credibility is questioned when not a single picture of the infant can be found. Crime Scene call in with news of the discovery of what seems to be a shallow grave, but the only thing the Heelers find buried there is some apparatus, apparently for faking a pregnancy. As investigations continue, the mothers sister turns up at the station and tells Tom she holds grave fears for her sisters sanity. It turns out the mother was a successful journalist who had a nervous breakdown following a well publicised ""close encounter"" with alien beings. Could it be the mother has done something to the baby? Was there a baby at all? Or was it all a product of the womans fevered imagination? Adam and Nick find themselves at odds over Adams support for the woman. A bond forms between mother and Adam and the woman extracts a promise from the young man that he wil

Nick hasnt shown up for the start of his shift and a worried Maggie reports to Tom that he is not at the watchhouse keepers residence either. Later it is discovered he has been at the home of Danielle Carter, an ex-prostitute at the centre of a major criminal trial in Mount Thomas. While this draws sniggers from his uniformed colleagues, PJ fails to see the humour. It will be hard enough to get a conviction for the rape of an ex-crow without Nicks personal involvement complicating the case. Dash is appalled to receive a love letter from the crusty old farmer, Keith Purvis, only to find this is yet another of Nick Schultzs practical jokes. Nick thinks its Dash getting her own back when he receives a note from a ""love sick secret admirer"" suggesting an assignation in the park. Nick ignores the letter only to receive a much more threatening missive; shredded underwear smeared with blood. Quite obviously, this is no practical joke, so who is stalking Nick? Maggie finds herself becoming personally involved when a Polish woman, Ivona, arrives at the police station, escorted by a taxi driver demanding payment. Ivona has an address for some people by the name of McPhee, so the logical place to start the investigation is there. Maggie and PJ quickly discover the situation isnt as straight forward as it looks—Danusha, Ivonas daughter, is an exchange student, whose host family were the McPhees, but shes no longer staying there. The Heelers are directed to a new family the Barnses, who Danusha met through a school friend, Mandy. Their parents are both away, leaving Mandys older brother, Jason in charge of the house. Both Mandy and Jason claim Danusha is staying back at the McPhees. Trying to trace Danusha, the Heelers investigate school records, both families, and the coordinator of the student exchange program. Elaborating on local legend, Dash explains that the Troll and his son have been feared by every child in the district for many years, even now the scarecrow gives her the creeps. Maggie encounters Gavin Stone as he is leaving the station. She looks at his car—it is falling apart as they speak. Gavin pleads with her to give him a chance to repair it, as it is now their only way of getting around. Although Maggie lets him off with a warning she is later forced to register the car unroadworthy. Meanwhile, PJ is investigating a series of car thefts from the supermarket parking lot. Each theft victim seems to have a similar description of a man that they saw loitering at the scene. Tom firmly believes that these are not isolated random thefts; they

He suggests that both the Torrinis are the victims of harassment; perhaps at the hands of the Belfanti brothers, major market gardeners in the area. Maggie realises that the only way she can help her brother overcome his addiction is with the help of her family so asks their father, Sgt. Pat Doyle, up from Melbourne. Maggie and Pat face Robbie who tries to convince them that he can stop using heroin whenever he likes. Maggie and Pat realise that this is just another junkie line and explain that they will help him any way they can if he is willing to combat his addiction. Robbie suggests that with their help he can go cold turkey. Maggie and Pat decide that they will take shifts in watching Robbie while he goes through withdrawal. However, this makes it even harder for Maggie to concentr

PJ and Tom refuse to believe that Maggie could be leaking information to a suspected drug dealer. PJ is stymied, but before he and Tom can decide what to do, their boss, District Inspector Russell Falcon-Price, arrives demanding to know why they have not yet reported Maggie. He calls in Inspector Monica Draper, from Ethical Standards Division, who interviews Maggie—and promptly suspends her from duty. Still convinced of her innocence, PJ is frantic. Tom is convinced there is some sort of link between these diverse incidents. And Dash also runs into an old friend, under suspicious circumstances also. Maggie is telling Dash of her recurring nightmare of a dark and angry horse when Robbie brings in his new employer, Doreen Jackson, and her father, Jim Jamieson, to report that one of his paintings has been stolen- a painting of a horse. Ever since Jim was crippled by a rogue horse, it seems he paints nothing but horses- the same one, over and over again. But when Maggie and PJ go to his derelict property to investigate, they discover that the stolen painting has been replaced. Jim cant understand it , but PJ thinks that answer to the confusion lies in the empty liquor bottles on his table. Robbie heads off to his job at Doreens service station, but is soon calling the station to report he has been robbed. Apparently two leather clad bikers held him up at knife point and stole the takings in the till. PJ is frankly skeptical, suspecting that Robbie may have staged the robbery in order to use the money to support his heroin addiction. Maggie vehemently rejects this suggestion, despera

Dash is somewhere out there in a bus with a group of school children, their teacher and an armed gunman, and the Heelers are feeling especially bad about it because they led Dash to believe that theyve forgotten her birthday. When the bus is found abandoned, the Heelers must decipher both true and false clues in order to find the missing children.

A new resident, Bob Barker, comes in to the station to report a burglary. This seems normal enough until Maggie and PJ realise that Bob has had, not his contents, but his whole house stolen. They go out to investigate the property which Bob claims he hasnt seen for five years (since his aunt left it to him in her will) and find only the stumps on which the house sat. The Heelers tell Bob and his daughter Pippa that they will chase up the matter but it could be difficult, considering the theft could have occurred any time over the past five years. Financially strapped, Bob wonders where he can now spend the night. Tom organises for him to work a shift at the Imperial in return for a room. PJ and Maggie get on the trail of the missing house but find every lead dead. The only local house moving company in town hasnt done that sort of business for years. The other avenues the Heelers pursue, such as crooks selling off the parts for money, are equally fruitless.

When a young man, Dean Hartley, is involved in an accident following a high speed car chase secrets unravelled. Dean admits to driving the vehicle immediately after the accident but later retracts the statement. PJ had taped the conversation and brings the recorder out to show Dean, but when he pushes the play button he finds that the tape is missing. PJ begins to investigate the tape theft but when he stumbles onto the true identity of Deans natural mother he finds a secret much more shocking.

PJ is stepping out in style - back in uniform as the Acting Sergeant. But this isnt the only change at Mt. Thomas police station. A new member has arrived; acting CI Deborah Hill and none of the Heelers seems able to make a good impression on her. Deborah is currently suing another member, Sgt. Bill Parker, for sexual harassment and tensions increase when she catches the Heelers talking about it behind her back. Deborah is taking over a case from PJ; a series a warehouse burglaries. PJ believes that a local, Johnny Rossitano, is behind them. He explains to Deborah that he has spoken to Rossitanos girlfriend, April, who has told him that Johnny has teamed up with two out-of-towners, Sean and Michael Murphy. The trio are planning to hit a warehouse tonight. Deborah doesnt think much of PJs techniques or his information. PJ and Deborah continue to clash as they prepare to stake out the warehouse that night. Tom realises that something has to be done and so tells PJ to back off.

The Heelers face some harsh realities when Dash believes she has stumbled onto a case of neglect. After nearly knocking down a child in the street, Dash searches for the childs mother who turns up hours later. Dash believes that the womans gambling addiction has led to the neglect of her son. The mother is furious at the allegations and, in the face of very little proof, Tom tries to diffuse the situation. He explains to Dash that her job is to investigate crimes not accuse mothers of neglect. Dash approaches the social worker, Tim Ryan, who promises to look into the situation. But Dash wont be satisfied until the child is out of the womans care. Meanwhile, Clancy and Leonie Freeman, an intellectually handicapped couple, are having trouble with their baby Rachel. Friends of the Heelers, they have been tricked into handing over all their money to a photographer/con man who seems to work just within the boundaries of the law.

Maggie takes on the responsibility of an assistant crown prosecutor in a criminal trial. Tom finds himself on the side of the accused, a woman charged with the brutal murder of her husband. The case seems like an open and shut win for the prosecution...but is it?

Strange things are happening in the Eventide Retirement Home. Valuables are going missing, one resident is found dead under mysterious circumstances and another endangers the lives of the others when he hallucinates after smoking marijuana. Are the two teenagers doing Community Service behind all the trouble? Or is there something sinister about Yvonne Dunn, the Administrator of Eventide, who seems to have a strange hold over her residents? Whos the person so desperate to get a place in Eventide that theyre prepared to go to any lengths to get the existing residents to move to other Homes? As the Heelers investigate they learn that love is a powerful motivator for both young and old. But then the Heelers learn from Leila Clegg, also a resident, that there have been other thefts. Yvonne Dunn starts to look pretty suspicious herself. She claims she did not report the thefts because it unsettles the residents, and Eventide has lost several other homes recently.

""Mr. Lucky"" is Enzo Fiorelli, a charming, charismatic and successful con man. Several years ago he defrauded most of Mt. Thomas Italian community for everything they had, destroying their lives, ruining businesses and leaving a trail of grief and outrage. Enzo Fiorelli paid for his exploits with a long stretch in jail. Released, he inexplicably walked out of his witness protection program, blowing his cover forever, and returned to Mt. Thomas. The Heelers struggle to keep a lid on the communitys righteous resentment for the man who caused so many of them so much pain. At first its only hate mail, and then its a brick through the windscreen of Enzos expensive car… but then its a bullet through one of his tyres. Is it the community? Is it Enzo himself, trying to get the Heelers to give him full-time protection? And why has he returned to Mt. Thomas, where there is so much hatred directed towards him.

Adam and Dash find Tony Timms, intrepid reporter for the Mt. Thomas Gazette, dazed and injured on the riverbank while they are investigating a reported explosion. Tonys camera has gone but he wont say who attacked him or why he was there. But the Heelers get a clue after they attend a charity fish dinner at the Imperial, all of those who eat the fish come down with food poisoning. Could it be that the Mt. Thomas River is polluted? Sure enough, the Heelers discover some suspicious looking barrels in the river. But Doctor Zoes tests show that the drum contents had nothing to do with the fish poisoning. Meanwhile, Chris reports that the Akubra hat containing the money collected at the charity dinner has gone missing. The suspects include Keith Purvis and his new lady love, a local pig farmer. Or was it Jeanie, the cook, resentful of the implication that she poisoned the fish? And how was Tony Timms and his keen youth trainee involved?

Tom is faced with a dilemma when a mother asks him to protect her son, a convicted felon who is back home after an early release. The boy was responsible for the particularly cowardly armed robbery of a local real estate office which traumatised the owners wife so much that she later committed suicide. Her husband seems a reasonable man, but could he be harbouring feelings of revenge? Someone has to be responsible for the threatening phone calls and broken windows the family is getting. The Heelers question an old associate of the sons and, by chance, discover him to be in possession of a stolen police gun. The news almost immediately brings Detective Sergeant Ben Stewart, from Organised Crime, to Mt. Thomas. He has been on the trail of these stolen police weapons for the past two years, and is excited to have a positive lead at last. Ben Stewart fits in very well at Mt. Thomas - almost too well for PJs liking as he takes an immediate shine to Maggie and wants to ask her out.

When Maggie and PJ are called to a wealthy graziers to investigate a wool theft they are greeted by a mob of naked sheep instead of the empty wool shed they expected to find. The grazier points the finger at an ex-shearer and old time rival, but Maggie and PJ discover he is not the only person with reason to dislike the grazier. Other suspects include the recently sacked manager of the property and the graziers own daughter who has her own powerful reasons to resent her father. As they Investigate the theft, Maggie and PJ discover a secret love affair between the daughter and the son of the man he most despises, the ex-shearer. Could the two of them be planning to use the stolen wool clip to start a new life together? The boy is a talented pianist and Dashs mum, Beth McKinley, is leading a group of citizens raising money for him to study music overseas.

Nick questions his ability to continue in the police force when he is duped by a sexual abuse case, and then makes a bad call in another related case when a woman asks for an intervention order against her ex-boyfriend, but Nick merely asks the man to stay away from her. When the woman ends up in hospital with a broken neck and her estranged boyfriend attached to her spinal halo, Nick must devise a way to bring the man down without further endangering the woman.

The rest of the Heelers are puzzled when PJ starts behaving strangely after a married couple is brought back to the station following a violent domestic. Maggie is especially worried, as it begins to look very much as though PJ is having an affair with this woman, a nurse at the local hospital. But what this woman really wants is PJs help in breaking some bad news to her husband. PJ finally reveals this news to Maggie and explains what has prompted his strange behaviour. PJ hadnt thought twice in rescuing a bloodied driver from his mangled car and this woman has told him that she has caught HIV from a needle-stick injury while treating the same man. PJ could now also be infected and therefore so could Maggie. While they start their two-week wait for the results of PJs blood test, the man is captured on a security camera holding up a service station with a syringe full of blood.

Ben Stewart returns to a permanent posting in Mt. Thomas, but he has been demoted to Senior Constable for punching Romano. However Ben soon puts the Heelers loyalties to the test when he becomes the focus of an investigation into the death of a local woman.

Nick is awoke in the middle of the night by a drunken tour operator who reports that one of his clients has gone missing in the National Park. The Heelers question the womans husband and their pregnant friend, but they say the woman fell behind during an evening bushwalk and just... disappeared. While the Heelers are conducting a thorough search of the park in daylight, PJ wants a word with Aussie Andy, the tour operator, believing that his drunken carelessness may have contributed to the womans disappearance. But when PJ and Ben are climbing up the rocky bluff where Andy is supposedly searching, PJ falls and twists his ankle badly. Unfortunately their only radio was smashed in the fall, and PJ finds himself extremely grateful for Bens help - especially as he has insisted that they carry on. Up on the bluff, Ben finds a lost gold earring.

Ben fights for the life of a suicidal teenager who has been in trouble with the law too many times. Ben believes that the boys crimes, like the suicide attempt, are really cries for help and when the Heelers find him in a terrifying situation with his estranged father, Ben realises that the boys life rests in his hands.

When Ben and Dash visit a farm to enquire about a spate of thefts in the district, they discover that those pillars of the community, the Frasers, are involved in a violent argument. Ben tries to resolve the dispute between father and son but is hampered by the Frasers belief that what happens in the family should stay in the family. When Ben spots a black eye on Mrs Fraser he fears the situation may be more serious than he first thought. However, Tom refuses to believe that Mr Fraser would be capable of beating his wife. The conflict over this issue creates a tense situation for Ben and Tom as they begin to clash over issues of operational responsibility and initiative. As the war of words continues, Nick, as Sergeant, is brought into the argument. Ben wonders why many of Nicks jobs are done by Tom - does the Boss have reservations about Nicks competence or is he just holding onto the reins too tightly?

When Adam discovers that a car he has just purchased is part of a stolen car racket, his loyalty to his job and friends hang in the balance. Adam has to make a decision; should he own up and lose risking his money, or just keep his mouth shut? Some harsh treatment from Tom about Adams handling of a spate of shoplifting incidents adds pressure to Adams eventual decision.

Ben clashes with Tom when he finds himself championing the cause of Maureen Ritchie and her three foster children - in particular the two boys Scott and Jason. Bens involvement with Maureen is made more intense because he is missing his own three kids and has concerns about his sons upcoming birthday. Ben is warned by Tom and Maggie not to get in too deep, but he is enraged when Maureens neighbour, Herbert Fisher, is robbed and the finger is pointed at the two boys. There have been several incidents of vandalism in the street and Herbert has been waging a campaign against the boys; Ben is sure that he is trying to set them up to get them removed from Maureens care. Herbert Fisher has made it clear several times that he wants the boys gone. But Ben and Maggie then discover that Maureens estranged husband, Joe, also has reason to want to get rid of the boys.

While she waits for the final test results of her cancer, Dash becomes drawn into a case involving one of her old and trusted school teachers. A surveillance camera catches Karen attempting to smother her baby girl, and when the video tape goes missing, Dash is immediately a suspect. When Adam is seen with the womans husband, he is also placed under suspicion. As they fear for the jobs and worry about the upcoming doctors appointment, Adam and Dash find comfort in each others arms.

PJs quest to solve the mystery of Maggies murder leads him to the bass guitarist in a recently re-formed rock band. When the muso refuses to give him the answers he wants, PJ decides to apply the pressure by applying for a warrant to search for drugs. Heroin is found, but PJs plans are soon thwarted because the leader of the band, a faded rock star, takes responsibility for the drugs. Meanwhile, Jack strikes up a friendship with the bands spunky back-up vocalist, who turns out to be the daughter of the bands promoter, Bryce McLeod. PJ investigates Bryce and discovers he was not only named in a top secret drug trafficking inquiry, but was also a close friend of Barry Craigs. Perhaps this is the missing link he is looking for. With PJ applying pressure on Bryce he pulls the plug on the band, bringing about tragic consequences for one of its members. A much loved elderly woman dies while under the care of Doc Bourke, an old style country doctor who makes house calls, sets broken legs in paddocks and accepts cuts of meat in lieu of payment. Tess and Jonesy investigate a domestic disturbance and Tess is reacquainted with Hayley, a troubled young girl from her past. An unpopular neighbours portrait is discovered riddled with bullets and he is adamant that Hayley is responsible but Tess defends her. An elderly womans dog is found shot dead and PJ discovers that the bullets from both crimes match. When the weapon is found, Hayley is implicated. Tess faith in Hayleys innocence leads them to the truth but places Hayleys future in jeopardy. Will Tess challenge the stability of her own world for the sake of Hayleys?

Jonesys lack of experience complicates an investigation, when he lets a man go after breaking up a fight, only to discover the man is wanted for drug trafficking and burglary. Is he the same man recently seen troubling the local bank manager and his family? Jonesys concern for the family and his desire to redeem himself places him on the back foot with Tess. His concerns seem justified when the bank is robbed and the bank manager and his family are discovered missing. Would he rob his own bank .. and who else is involved? Things are going much better now for Tess and Hayley, until an incident at school provides Tess with something to worry about while Tom and Reverend Grace grow closer. Meanwhile Tom suspects a retired thief guilty of burglary until he is questioned and the old man claims he was set up. The Heelers have a lead on another suspect and their hunt leads them to two teenage boys. One is the estranged son of the retired thief. Is he following in his fathers footsteps? When a second robbery occurs involving a serious assault, the old man defends his sons innocence. He might not be the worlds greatest father, but hes positive his son is not violent. When the Heelers locate their original suspect they discover has a watertight alibi. Does he have a hold over the retired thiefs son? Tom worries for the old mans safety when he is discovered assaulted and his son cannot be found. Can the desire to protect and impress go too far?

Tom is dragged to see a touring faith healer but his scepticism turns to concern when the healer is attacked by a man accusing him of killing his wife. Is the healer a fraud? Jo questions him and is surprised to find that he is far from shrewd. His manager, once healed by him herself, is incredibly protective of him and takes care of the business with the help of a roadie. The manager is beside herself when Jo finds the healer violently assaulted. Is this the revenge of the grieving man? Did he and the roadie engineer this together? As Jo witnesses the darker side of faith she marvels at the healers capacity for forgiveness

When Jonesy and Tess find Les Andersons car parked on the roadside they dont expect to find him almost dead in his boot - the victim of a brutal bashing. Tom and Tess must reluctantly put Jonesy on the suspect list - along with Wendy Reiner, Jason Rose, Nipper Brown and his brother Mitch. While Jonesy is cleared, the other suspects all have too much evidence against them and Les is in a coma so he cant have his say. When Les wakes, Nipper confesses to the crime and Les confesses privately to Jonesy that he did kill Sam Bridges, Jonesys father. The Heelers must confront all the others to prove it because no-one else was in the room when the confession occured. When they finally get their proof it is too late. Les Anderson has just been pronounced dead. Now Jonesy must decide whether to stay despite the fact that the quest that drew him into the Police Force has at last come to an end.

For a cop, Christmas can be the hardest time of the year. Jo cant wait to eat, drink and be merry with her nearest and dearest. Tess is determined that Hayley has her best Christmas ever.

Tom discovers his daughter is pregnant when she becomes the victim of a hit and run. The accident leaves her unconscious and internally injured and Tom is faced with a terrible dilemma. If he saves his daughters child he risks losing his own. Would Susan forgive him? Could Tom forgive himself? As Tom seeks justice, Tess fights for Hayleys love. Among the singers are legends Charlie Bell and Butch Jordan who was Tesss favourite singer as a child. Jo is even more angry when Ben injures himself at basketball and she must take over his shift, missing out on her weekend off. Farmer Roy Haiseman begins firing at a trespasser whom Jonesy soon discovers is Butch Jordan himself. One of only two roads to the festival goes through Roys property and Roy is against the idea. But he refuses and throws himself further into his work, which pays off when he discovers there is something suspicious about both the kidnapping and the murder and Jo has to agree there are too many coincidences. But when PJ solves the case and sees a son and mother reunited he decides to be with his mother until the end and to share her pain.

There is celebration in Mt. Thomas as Tom gets a service medal for 30 years in the force. But the celebrations are marred when a young Aboriginal woman injures Grace and claims Tom stole her from her family as a child. The Heelers soon discover that when Tom was new to the force, in 1973, he was involved in helping the government remove some Aboriginal children from their families. Where he lived as a child, out near Lake End Mission, was the scene of his removing Kim Cook and her two brothers from their violent father. Kims life was destroyed in foster homes and her brothers both died (one of drugs and one of suicide). Tess, Evan and PJ stand by the boss but Jo believes it is more his fault for taking the children. Meanwhile, Chris believes Kim is responsible for stealing some money at the pub that the town had pooled to buy Tom an antique mirror for his 30 years. Jo, Tess and PJ investigate when the murder of a local politician brings out a lot of surprising truths. Barbara has no money either and is spending all her time doing some heavy petting with Gossie while her disgusted teenage daughter Laura pays the bill.

A domestic at the church finds Jonesys mates wedding coming to a standstill. Geoff Vincent and Charmian Blakeney are planning to get married the following day but her father Ned is fighting with his ex-wife Hilary and her young lover Damian. To add to this, the best man - Wolfie Schmidt is having serious troubles. The wedding rings are missing, one of which was Neds mothers. Sleazy jeweller Harold Craig has no idea where they are either, and although the Heelers have suspicions, he cant help them.

When the victim of a motor accident claims his good Samaritan is trying to kill him, and two local farmers who have lost their mother suddenly come into money and their life changes, Tess and Jonesy have to learn to work together again when a dangerous situation occurs. Meanwhile, Liz is endangered and PJ has to come to terms with how serious he is about her, but she decides to go back to Melbourne. They finally discuss it and realise that working and living together is enough and that a relationship would ruin their friendship.

PJ finds himself at loggerheads with Jo over her sympathy for a woman on work release from prison. The arrival in town of her son and defacto husband leads PJ to suspect that the woman is still involved in their criminal activities. His views seem to be confirmed when she escapes from prison, but Jo discovers she has a different motivation, and together she and PJ must try to save her sons life. After agreeing to be just good friend PJ naturally assumes Jo will now be moving out of his house, but Jo has different ideas.

Ben takes on the job of prosecuting a teenager accused of the heart-breaking robbery of a grieving widower

Toms wedding plans are thrown into disarray when Graces ex husband, Simon, arrives in town. It soon becomes apparent that Simon will use any means to come between Tom and Grace and disrupt their marriage plans. An unfortunate caricature on the wall of the police station seems to be the work of Graces son, but turns out to reveal the darker motives of Simon. Tom finds himself up against a very devious mind as he desperately tries to keep his marriage plans on track. Soon Tom finds himself at the centre of a murder investigation when Graces ex husband is found dead under suspicious circumstances

As Ben and Jo wrestle with the problems of an immigrant family new to Mt Thomas, they discover there are deeper reasons for their troublesome behaviour. While they do their best for the family, they find the scars left by their experiences as asylum seekers in detention are not so easily healed. When the father has to commit the mother to psychiatric care, Ben is forced to put his life on the line to deal with an explosive situation involving their teenage son. Meanwhile Tom finally starts his new life in the rectory with Grace.

Tess and Jonesy disagree about how to deal with a gang of troublesome teenage boys who seem to be beyond the reach of the law. The situation becomes complicated when a group of concerned citizens decides to take the law into their own hands. An injury to an old woman leads to retaliation with serious consequences for one of the youngsters. When Jonesy finally realises the source of Tess intolerance, he helps her experience the childhood she never had.

Bens re-involvement with his first wife Angela is complicated by the appearance of her jealous husband. By taking responsibility for the finances of an elderly and vulnerable female neighbour, Ben himself falls prey to exploitation by Angelas husband. Bens police colleagues fear he is too much in love with Angela to see what is happening.

Jo is attending a counselling session, after shooting a man in the previous episode. She returns to Mt. Thomas and is not happy because she didnt want to attend the session. She overhears PJ saying she isnt as strong as she makes out and is not impressed. Does everyone think she did something wrong? Jo, who the others fear is stressed out, refuses to let a fight at the pub rest and has everyone involved go to the station along with her, Tess and Evan. One man, Gavin Harrison, appears to have been having an affair with Marlene McKellan, wife of his best friend Ronnie. But they say they were drunk. Gavins wife Rowena says it is all because Ronnie is jealous of everything Gavin has and the two are forced to shake hands. Tess suggests Jo take some time off but she refuses. Jo also meets the handsome new doctor in town, Dr. Josh Carmichael, and is attracted to him. However Tess already knows him (a ""friend of a friend""). The next day, Jo and PJ go to investigate a matter and Jo feels li

Jo and PJ heal their rift as they find themselves investigating a bizarre case involving empty graves, bikers and missing bodies. PJ finds himself admiring Jos compassionate side when she fights to organise a proper funeral for a homeless man, only to discover that all is not as it should be at the local funeral home. Jonesy is encouraged in his pursuit of Tess even though she is dating the handsome Dr. Josh At the end of the day, PJ and Jo have a new understanding of each other while Jonesy cant stand the fact that Tess may be interested in Josh after all.

Amongst those searching, Tess and PJ must admit their true feelings for Jonesy and Jo respectively. But even as the flames die down, there is trouble when Ben - who realises he may have caused the entire bushfire - promises that he has stopped drinking, even though it may not be true.

Ben, out on patrol, pulls over Inspector Falcon-Pricess wife. The media find out about the incident and the Inspector is not impressed. Tom has to deal with Compo Hayes who smashed into Toms car. Tesss husband gets offered a job in Melbourne, and decides to take it. The road patrol uncovers a grisly homicide.

Sam, safely ensconced in Jos house and attending school regulary; well at least for the last few days, joins the school netball team. Trouble begins to brew when parents become upset about team plaements. The coach is bashed and the star player a vitim of a hit and run. During a match Sam deliberately trips another player who ends up with a broken nose. Jo insists Sam apologise, whish she does, but she also gets kicked off the team. Grace asks Sam to stay with her and Tom, she accepts. JO finds out through Tom, that PJs opinion was asked. Jo fronts PJ, and they part on bad terms.

Private Investigator Archie Garrett returns to Mount Thomas to find a petty thief stealing personal items from the patients at a new detox centre. Jo Parrish and PJ accidentally come across Archie when they notice a woman running through the grounds of the centre, fleeing from an imaginary demon. When detox patients claim theyve a seen ghost rumours of a murder at Layton Hall in the 1800s just fuel the gossip. A determined Jo pushes PJ to continue investigating the mysterious happenings at the detox centre in order to get to the bottom of the ghost story.

Everyone is gossipping about Tess failed marriage after last weeks discovery, but out on patrol, Jonesy defends Tess. Jonesy and Ben come across two 12-year-old boys chroming and attempt to help them kick the habit, only to discover that their home-life provides no help and takes it upon himself to save them. When one of the young boys dies, Ben cant cope with the loss and hits the bottle again.

Against PJs advice ben continues his affair with Felecity Falcon Price. It seems a night without electricity causes sparks to fly between the memebers of Mt thomas Station. PJ and Jo, seeming in the middle of nowheer are about to do the deed, at jos insistance. Jonesy is more than happy, that the station is in darkenss whilst he is on duty with Tess. Being without phones can only be a good thing. As they are about to get closer, Tess drops a bombshell secret, (which isnt actually a secret to most BH fans).

Tess and Ben encounter a family custody dispute with a difference, when they meet a lesbian couple, Andrea and Natalie, their son Kai, and his father, Gethin, the sperm donor. Gethin has been refused access rights to his son, and when Natalie is knocked unconscious he is the natural suspect. Inspector Falcon-Price serves an intervention order on Gethin, who in turn threatens the Inspectors children. When the Inspector discovers his children missing the Heelers begin a search… but they find out more than the whereabouts of the children when they find Ben in bed with Felicity!

As her pregnancy progresses, Tess starts dreaming vividly, until she is woken by Jonesy and he drags her down to a local jewellery shop which he claims has been burgled. Upon investigation they find the padlocked chain on the gate still intact. But when the owner discovers $20,000 worth of jewels missing their bad dream becomes reality. Jonesy soon finds himself in a difficult position when a former Det Sgt reveals who is responsible for the series of strange burglaries.

Jo announces shes moving out of the house she shares with PJ and Ben and moving in with her new boyfriend! When a body is found by the railway line the investigation leads the Heelers to a local internet cafe, run by a waring husband and wife. They both remember seeing the dead woman just days earlier, an American who travelled to Australia to meet her ""Prince Charming"". The search soon begins for a cyber lover who may also be a murderer.

Jonesy pushes Tess to watch a birthing video and name her unborn child. A young man, Rory, suffering from Schizophrenia takes a strange liking to Tess, believing her to be an angel. When a fire starts in Rorys home both the father and son blame each other, but a series of strange fires point the finger of suspicious at the father - but why? Jonesy thinks Rory is just eccentric, but when Rory cracks its Tess who is most at risk.

Toms teenage step-son, Daniel, finds a class mate stabbed in an alley, Jonesy and Tess are shocked to find the young victim had a knife. Daniel denies any knowledge of armed gangs, but his younger brother says otherwise. When the teenage stab victim goes missing from the hospital, Jonesy and Tess find the boys in a tense stand-off armed with knives. Tess tries to take control of the situation, but when one boy lunges in her direction Jonesy throws himself in between them and takes a knife in the torso.

Jo and PJ discover the body of a young woman at the bottom of a cliff in a suspected suicide. PJ is surprised to find out that Marco Fiorelli, his new flatmate, not only knew the woman—but she worked for his father! PJs investigations reveal Marcos father is wanted by the fraud squad for raising $15 million against non-existing assets and it seems like his debtors are closing in when they pay a visit to the house and kidnap Jo who they think is the key to reach Fiorelli. The threat to Jos life makes PJ realise his true feelings for her. But will it be too late?

A French documentary maker in town to film country policing captures all the intricacies and conflicts when the Heelers are forced to investigate one of their own. In a series of flashbacks, the Frenchmans video footage reveals the truth behind Widgerees Senior Constable Ian Goss suspected cover-up of a crime, as its being investigated by internal affairs.

Tess is delighted when her sister Bridie turns up in town with a good job and a new boyfriend, but Jonesy has to work hard to overcome an instinctive dislike. The Heelers are baffled when a man confesses to murdering a young woman, but they cant find her body. Bridie flirts with Jonesy, causing escalating aggression from the boyfriend, who takes it out on Bridie, then staggers into the hospital with a stab wound. Meanwhile the young woman is found, but says shes been raped. When the Heelers go to question the boyfriend and the young woman, they discover both have disappeared from the hospital—along with Jonesy, who was supposed to be guarding them. And then an hysterical Bridie leads them to her boyfriends bloody dead body.

Jos life is saved by a mysterious stranger after she is left choking on her seatbelt after she is run off the road. When she learns her benefactor may have done a drive-by shooting, she refuses to accept it, but the truth is hard to find, partly because of her faulty memory of the events, and partly because of the confusion caused by a light blue ute, which has been involved in a series of crimes, from the drive-by shooting, to running her off the road, to an armed robbery of the Juicy Rooster. Unfortunately the utes owner has an alibi for at least one of these crimes, and PJ is forced to believe his explanation that his ute was stolen. But by who, and why?

Jo takes a single mother, Cherry, under her wing when she arrives in Mt Thomas searching for Ryan, the father of her baby, who disappeared shortly after she announced she was pregnant. She has since been suspected of his murder and is anxious to clear her name. Ryan now has a new girlfriend, and has once again mysteriously disappeared shortly after his new girlfriend announced her pregnancy too. The Heelers think they have a serial absconder on their hands

Jonesy begins to doubt Susies efficiency on the job until he is taken hostage by a fugitive in the woods and Susie has to save his life, with the help of a handcuffed suspect.

Ben is concerned that Maddy is dating a weirdo just to spite him. He tries to push her into someone more suitable, until his judgement is questioned when both boys become implicated for theft and fraud.

Susie has found her husband, Brad, a job at a local call centre but is distressed to find that its the work place from hell. When the boss accuses the union organiser of sabotage, Brad is persuaded to play detective and soon suspects the centre is linked to illegal activities.

When the Mt Thomas High School principal is attacked, Tom and the Heelers suspect exam theft is the cause. Until, that is, they begin probing into the dysfunctional family of the principal. Meanwhile, Ben earnestly awaits the promotion to Sergeant that he has been seeking for four years. Last time he wanted it, it was snatched up by Tess. Hes so close now, but Inspector Falcon-Price has other plans... And Susies marriage troubles escalate; while Tom finds more trials as Daniel finishes school.

As Susie goes looking for Brad, she discovers another feuding couple, sparked by marital sexual problems.

PJ refuses to explain how he came to be standing over the dead body of Luke Darcy, forcing the Homicide Squad to arrest him for murder. The other Heelers must prove his innocence and find the real killer. Meanwhile the Heelers get a surprise when Jo finds out that she has been promoted to Senior Constable, when her strips and badge come in the mail. And they also find out that Ditch is the father of Kaylas baby.

Ben faces a dilemma when he and his fiancée Marissa search for two homeless kids - the children of an itinerant drifter who collapsed during a pub brawl. Ben has already begun to suspect that he has met his match in selfless self-sacrifice in Marissa, but relations are strained when Ben realises that Marissa is hiding the kids. While most things work out well, Ben and Marissa soon realise that they dont have the trust to make their marriage work, and decide to call it off.

Ben and Susie face the inquest into Brads death. What is hoped to be a mere formality quickly becomes complicated when a witness makes damning claims against them both - including accusations that Ben and Susie were having a passionate affair.

Tom has a black eye, PJ and Jo are in a foul temper after a bush walk goes wrong, Ben and Susie are frustrated after they chase a non-crime, and only when Jonesy reveals his adventures with a new Constable in Widgeree does PJ realise that they all hold a piece of the puzzle which may lead to the recovery of a quarter of a million dollars in stolen loot.

A woman who works out at the same gym as Susie and Jo is raped, and the Heelers suspect the gym owner when a witness cites sexual harassment. When looking through the local Internet sites, Jonesy discovers a porn site that includes the gym rape victims, and to her horror Jo as well. The race is on to find the rapist before Jo becomes his next victim.

Tempers flare as a man the town is convinced killed his son returns when the courts find him not guilty. Jo and PJ keep an eye on the lynch mob at the Imperial while Susie, Jonesy and Tom keep the man at the station. Infuriated with the courts decision, Jones schemes of a way to bait the man into attacking him. But he is not the only one who is seeking to take the law into his own hands, as justice is demanded at the Imperial when Chris is held at gunpoint.

Jo reopens the case of a missing teenager when his mother claims to have seen him in the dead of the night. Jo senses that there is more to the case than she imagined, and soon finds herself involved in a web of lies.

Susie and Evan make the horrifying discovery of about 50 dead kangaroos, looking to have been ripped apart with an automatic rifle. As debates rage over whether or not to thin out kangaroo numbers, the farmer who owns the land where the dead roos were found comes under suspicion. He denies it and suggests a mate he served with in Vietnam might be responsible for it, thinking that slaughtering the kangaroos might send a message to not have a cull. As the Heelers dig deeper, it is discovered that a cache of weapons from Vietnam had been kept, but when they come to seize them, some turn up missing. Now the race is on to find the weapons and whoever might be holding them.

Dylan dies of an ecstasy overdose, after convincing his father that he doesnt take drugs, and it was Jonesys fault. Susie enlists PJs help to see whether it was Dylans friends or his colleague who spiked his drink. Although Jonesy tries to keep his family name clean, his father soon suspects him of being on drugs and Inspector Monica Draper arrives to investigate. So when Jonesy finds evidence that his brother himself was on drugs, he is torn as to whether he should take the fall, or reveal what his late brother was really like.

A bungled police raid leaves Ben shot in the arm by Susie and a formal investigation looks set to find her guilty of shooting him out of payback for her husbands death last year rather than an accident, even though the Heelers are sure that she is innocent.

After an old lady is mugged, tension builds in Mt. Thomas. Thanks to Clancy, an eye-witness of the event, suspicion rests on a new family in town: the Baxters. The adult children, Matt, Troy and Tarni are brought in but nothing can be proven. Their father Barry, a softly controlling man, comes to bail them out and shortly afterward, Clancy is bashed. The cops link it back to the Baxters and end up arresting Troy when a brick is thrown through Toms window. However, at the same time, an old war veteran named Rocket Turnbull who served with Tom is in town, and has publicly threatened Tom. Meanwhile, Ben is attempting to play relationship advisor with Jo and PJ, until she confesses to him that the reason they split is because of Maggie. PJ thinks they can still work together, but Jo has asked for a transfer. A new day dawns in Mt. Thomas. Grace and Jo are distraught when Cal Millic, a man who they were helping in a custody battle, loses, and refuses to give his daughter back. Jo is forc

Troy Baxter has been crushed underneath a car at his property. Barry blames Tom and, while most of the cops brush this off as grief, Nick thinks it may be true. Shes fresh from the Academy, ambitious and enthusiastic, and determined to prove her worth. Her father, who was an old friend of Toms, died in the course of his duty as a policeman. However, her attempts to convey her sympathy to Tom end in him disciplining her. She is quickly aware that Tom Croydon is a changed man. Graces autopsy report comes back: she was raped before, presumably, struggling to escape and falling into the river, where she drowned. Tension is rife in Mt. Thomas. Joss and Kelly interrupt a girl who goes crazy in a store, and later find out that bad speed is being sold in the town. PJ and Nick are on bad terms over what they think of Toms intentions, and Amy is just trying to get someone to let her help. Ben and Susie are acting professionally around each other, and Jonesy is annoyed about their dalliance. After clearing up the confusion about which Sergeant is for what (Ben is for Operations, Mark is for Administration), the DNA report comes back which concludes that Troy Baxter did meddle with Graces car but, to prove he raped Grace, they must stop the funeral and take his body for DNA, which angers the Baxter family. Although it is proven that Troy did rape Grace, PJ begins to side with Nick that Tom may be overdoing it to suggest that the Baxters bombed the station. And - after Tom verbally assaults Barry Baxter - and suggests they are selling speed as well, PJ earnestly believes he has gone over the edge. In

Despite allegations by her ex-boyfriend Theo that she isnt all she appears to be, Jonesy stays firm to Donna in trying to protect her. She soon moves in with him. Only Susie is suspicious of Donna, a suspicion seemingly confirmed when Jonesys room is trashed. He arrests Theo, whom Amy recognises from her time in Melbourne - he was involved in an assault on a known drug dealer. Tom agrees with Amy, and refuses to give Donna police protection since she may be involved. Jonesy is not happy, pleading with the others and ultimately storming out of the station to go and personally protect Donna. The cops begin to consider that theyve gone too far, but a defiant Tom stands firm - Jonesy had better come back, or hell be out of a job...

Jonesy is stunned when Donna tells him that the people who hired Theo to kill Hugo Allen were in fact the police of St. Davids. As he goes about investigating secretly, he learns that the police have not been caring about Allens disappearance. When Amy finds out about his investigation, he is forced to get Donna to talk to her. Donna confesses that Louis Chang, a restaurant owner in St. Davids, runs an illegal casino from his restaurant and she was a call girl there. She was with Hugo when he found himself in trouble with Chang, and subsequently Chang had his police buddies order Hugos death. She had a mobile phone with pictures of the casino on it, but it was stolen when Jonesys room was ransacked. Amy believes Donnas story, but decides not to tell Tom in case he, too, is corrupt. Jonesy and Amy go to Changs posing as a dating couple, but are interrupted by Inspector Falcon-Price and St Davids multicultural police liaison Lucy Wu, who are also dining there. Jonesy is missing, and the general consensus is that he has run off with Donna. Only Susie is suspicious, and rightly so - since he has been shot and wounded, and finds himself being held captive by Louis Chang. Tom is at first unwilling to believe Susie, and is too busy with the investigation into police corruption into St. Davids. Frustrated, Susie has no choice but to go undercover unoficially and Ben - of course - agrees to help her. Tom and the team investigate Inspector Falcon-Price but the evidence soon proves that he isnt guilty, and neither is Lucy Wu - who both Amy and Jonesy were suspicious of. As the day comes to a climax, Susie and Ben find themselves in a dangerous situation which they survive, but she ultimately breaks up with him. Jonesy has to do the same to Donna, and has her arrested. And Amy is stunned to learn that her friend Andrew Reid is the real corrupt cop at St. Davids.

As the rape investigation continues, Inspector Draper arrives in town - worried that Tom is running amok. While Daniel evantually agrees to a DNA test, and is proven innocent, Tom loses his stepsons as they leave to live with their grandparents. Meanwhile, Joss, Jonesy and Kelly deal with a snake problem.

Kellys rejection of Sgt. Holland sees him treating her badly and continually giving her abuse. Amy realises what has happened but Kelly wont put in a complaint. When she finally does end up deciding to tell Tom, it is too late - for Roys heroic actions in saving a suicidal kid from a deadly situation have made him a hero. Meanwhile, after rescuing an attractive older woman from a bicycle accident, Joss and Roy recieve a dinner invitation which ends unexpectedly; and PJ and Susie suspect an inside job when they investigate a robbery at a veterinary clinic and end up unravelling a deep family secret.

Joss attempts to break things off with Fay Tudor but she doesnt agree. What he soon realises however, is that he is attempting to break off with her because he actually likes the relationship for once. Kelly is riding high after she gets payback on sleazy Sergeant Holland, but it isnt long before he is trying his old tricks on another young woman named Shayleen, who is only 15. Tarni Baxter returns to town, and Tom is certain that she is desperate for vengeance after Toms arrest of her family. While he and Tarni square off, he arrests her boyfriend Ryan for possession of drugs, only Mark is suspicious that he planted the drugs himself. Tom arrives home that afternoon to find his dog, Digger, viciously murdered. Kelly realises that Roy is dangerous and makes a formal complaint to Tom, who agrees with her and suspends Roy, who then threatens him. The next day Toms rental car is found on a deserted road, completely destroyed by fire - and with a charred body at the wheel.

It has been eight weeks since Tom pushed Tarni underwater, and he is now the subject of a possible murder investigation. Mark is running the station, with Tom suspended, and the new Acting Sergeant Lindy Schroder is intriguing everyone - particularly Joss. Nick is in town to help PJ investigate the case during which time they have learnt that Tarni survived Toms attempt on her life, and claims Tom then killed Ryan and fled. Tom, however, claims, he never found Tarni, and he was shot at as he left the premises after tying Ryan up. However, Ryans death does seem to be the work of one of them. While Joss and Jonesy are stuck investigating the arson of a set of bonsai trees, Amy investigates a video store robbery using the same rifle as the one that killed Ryan. When it leads to a friend of Ryans and Tarnis, it seems to prove that they were involved in Ryans death but the coroner, and lead investigator Greta Conroy, think otherwise, and Tom is formerly charged with murder.

The Heelers settle into an unusual routine when Tom returns to the station and reclaims his position as Boss. While some are more willing than others to accept it, Lindy discovers that Tom is not going to make things easy for her. As it is, Tom doesnt think much of Mark, who isnt the type of cop he is interested in, and he makes things even harder for the new cop in town. While Lindy finds her job in jeopardy, PJ, Amy, Joss and Kelly find themselves investigating bizarre cases - this is no normal week in Mt. Thomas.

After a home invasion strikes Mt. Thomas, PJ, Amy and Tom comfort the grieving OKeefe family. What they dont expect is to learn that the father, Danny, has gangster connections and this isnt going down well with Toms current attitude. And Susie is forced to bond with Alex, who is enjoying it immensely, when Jonesy is involved in a car chase with tragic results.

A father disowning his newborn baby leads Alex and Susie to suspect the mother, a schoolteacher, has been having an affair with a 14 year old schoolboy. At first both parties deny a relationship, but when they run away together, the case is all but proven, it seems the realtionship has been going on since the boy was 13. On his 13th birthday in fact. Meanwhile Joss feels sorry for a drunk he and Kelly find in the street and returns him home instead of charging him, overcoming the reluctance of his Russian speaking mother. Next day he finds himself in front of Tom—it turns out the drunk was completely unknown to the woman. Meanwhile, Alex and Susie are on a stakeout when Alex makes a move on her. Susie ends up sleeping with him, and seems to have fallen for him. The next day, though, Alex learns that Jonesy does like Susie - despite his protestrations - and so Alex makes the decision to back off. Tragedy turns to terror in Mt. Thomas when a second body is found, killed in a similar manner to the first one, and with a crucifix by the body as before. It appears there is a serial killer in town. PJ and Amy work with Garth to track down the only man with links to both girls - a masseuse who seems to fit their profile. But, while in questioning, a third victim is found giving the masseuse an alibi. What confuses the detectives is that the third victim is male which doesnt fit with their established profile of the killer, and it seems they must start at square one. Meanwhile a recently promoted Senior Constable Susie finds Jonesy is jealous of her promotion, since he too is waiting for one; and Joss and Kelly deal with a child whose dogs burn injuries have aroused suspicion at the local vet.

The fourth victim of the Mt. Thomas killer has been found in an alleyway near Bill Lapscotts house, using what looks to have been a brick from his yard to knock her out. Confusing the detectives is the fact that a different weapon was used in what seems almost to be a different M.O. The only thing tying her to the other victims is the crucifix, and her history of sexual abuse, leading Garth to suspect there is a copycat killer at work. Amys theory that Jeff Watts is the killer is proven wrong, since he was under surveillance, but Garth suspects it was Bill. They find him, still at the office, having showered. But there is no evidence to link him to the crimes, since his clothes have no blood on them. Day Six. Searching Ngaires house, Garth finds a love letter from her to Bill. He claims that he looked after her one night when she was suicidal and she developed a crush on him, which he did not reciprocate. Recognising Garths own issues, Bill tells him to go to therapy and Garth gets

Susie starts a crusade to clear the name of a man accused of an attempted mass murder, by leaving a bomb at the hospital. Unfortunately her task is made harder by the fact that the man killed himself on that same day. Meanwhile, suspecting that her change in mood equals feelings toward him, Jonesy plucks up the courage to ask her out, and recieves a bit of a surprise...

With Jonesy deeply involved in the honour killings in Mt. Thomas, and Tom completely off the rails trying to stop Danny OKeefe, the station verges on utter chaos.

Tensions continue to rise in Mt. Thomas, as Amy deals with her past and the power struggle for the station continues.

Tom faces the spectre of Barry Baxter, the man who killed his wife. Escaping from court on the first day of his trial, Baxter closes in on Mt Thomas, causing Tom to fear for the safety of his grandchildren. Meanwhile, Jonesy finally proposes to Susie but how will he react when he learns the truth about Susie and Alex?

Jonesy is dismayed when Susie hits it off with a handsome victim of a car theft racket that the Heelers are trying to crack. Feeling rejected, foolhardy Jonesy risks his life in a ute surfing competition as he tries to salvage the lives of a young man and his pregnant sister. Meanwhile, Joss uses his BMW as bait for car thieves, but loses it another way.

Joss and Kellys birthday celebrations are soured when one of the guests, a lifelong friend of Kellys, is found dead — the victim of an apparent drug overdose. The preliminary autopsy report reveals that shed had sex a short time before her death, but Kelly staunchly maintains that her engaged friend was neither promiscuous nor a drug user.

Alexs good nature makes him an enemy. The man who killed Kellys father 15 years ago has been released from prison and is in town to tend to his dying mother. A wall of sympathy and police solidarity is thrown up around Kelly. Tom takes steps to run the released killer out of town, but Alex earns the resentment of his colleagues by treating the man fairly.

The paddock at the lonely Biden farm has revealed the remains of three more murder victims, all teenage girls. Charlie Biden has already admitted to killing one, and is clearly the murderer of the others. His wife, Marie, frustratingly takes the high moral ground, until Charlie dies violently in custody, obviously by means of Marie. Mark takes the blame for this death as well and spins further into despair.

Alex continues a struggle with paranoia after receiving a bullet taped to a transfer application form. Things become more desperate when petty criminal Terry Swanson exploits Alexs situation by involving the police bureaucracy, further inflaming tensions inside the Mt Thomas station. Joss, the one person who can remedy all this, lacks the courage to confront Alex or confess to the boss.

Mark befriends a young boy with great artistic promise during a routine investigation into thefts in Widgeree. However, when Mark breaks a promise under duress from his family, the boy turns against him, with tragic consequences.

Tom confronts his past when an old army mate confesses to a 35-year-old homicide. As the horrific nature of the crime is discovered, Tom begins to question the truth of his friends confession. Amy challenges Tom over his involvement in the murder investigation and discovers he had a close personal involvement with the victim.

On a Saturday morning, after the high school Formal, Amy and Jonesy investigate the death of a teenage girl, murdered, apparently by her friends.

Matts army service in East Timor complicates his dealings with a man who robs a video store. Amy follows up the latest sighting by a frantic mother still seeking the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that killed her daughter. Kelly cannot ignore Estelle White, the young woman who is obsessed with her.

Matts military past is revealed as he is investigated by his peers in relation to a murder, while Amy grudgingly notes Jonesys potential as a detective. Meanwhile, suffering from post-traumatic stress, Kelly makes a serious error in judgement which leads to a harrowing showdown with her number one fan.

On his first day on the job Jonesy discovers that being a detective is harder, and more expensive, than he thought. When a woman alleges she was raped while under general anaesthetic, Jonesy fails to make any headway in the case forcing Amy to get involved to show him how its done. Pushed out of the rape investigation, Jonesy focuses on solving a burglery at the home of a psychiatrist.

The Heelers are concerned about Toms health and, despite Amys nagging, Tom is still very reluctant to see a doctor and denies claims that he is unwell. In the midst of this, Tom becomes personally involved in the case of a young boy who is being bullied and tormented by his peers; this forces Tom to reminisce about his troubles as a child. Matt helps an old colleague of Toms when he arrives at the station seeking help with an old case.

Tom secretly goes to Melbourne to receive treatment for his cancer, confiding only in Amy. Kelly, becoming uneasy about Toms disappearance, consults Amy who ensures her Tom is out innocently fishing. Following Toms disappearance, Inspector Falcon-Price gleefully takes over the operation of the station and also becomes suspicious about Toms whereabouts, finally deciding to question Kelly. Amy begins to get frustrated when the Inspector does his utmost best to hinder her case of a brutal home invasion and assault. When hers and the Inspectors opinions begin to differ, Amy finds herself taken off the case. Alex, in a bid to keep Rory hidden from the Inspector, sends him out on the road with Susie and is terrified when he again goes missing.

Falcon-Price is still at Mount Thomas and, after realising the extent of Toms bad health, orders him out on the road as Divisional Patrol Supervisor, seeing a chance to get rid of Tom by proving he is not fit for active duty. It looks as if this is true when Alex is stabbed by an escaped offender and it looks as if Tom is to blame. Falcon-Price convinces Alex to have Tom brought before the Medical Officer and, when Alex agrees, Falcon-Price uses this as ammunition to get Tom out of the force; but gets it blown up back in his face. Meanwhile, Jonesy and Amy are have difficulty finding their suspect and Kellys jealousy is showing when she tries to find some negative information about Josss new girlfriend.

The Heelers investigate the suspicious downing of a crop dusting plane, suspecting sabotage; they just do not count of the amount of suspects. Everyone is concerned that Joss has lost his nerve when he fails to back Kelly up during two incidents. Josss gambling problems are increasing and his gambling problems start to affect his work. When he is left homeless, Kelly offers him accommodation. Again, Kelly is having problems with her new lawyer boyfriend and the ethical problems that their relationship is presenting. Alex fears for his son when he provides evidence about a robbery. Alex also fears Rory has a crush on Susie, or even worse, that Susie is the one with a crush.

Amy and Even are attempting an undercover operating when their cover is blown and Matt is almost shot. Tom is still battling with, and coming to terms with, his cancer and knows that he should be taking his time and renewing ties with his estranged family. He is distracted when disgraced former police-officer Adam Cooper arrives in Mount Thomas, as a photocopier technician. Cooper, who was dismissed by Tom for corruption, attempts to frame Tom and accuses him of illegally selling stolen firearms following the bombing of the former Mount Thomas police station; these are accusations that Inspector Falcon-Price is gleeful to hear and he readily accepts them and grants Cooper anything he desires. Tom also helps fellow cancer suffer, Gina, in her final days and Heelers are left to pick up the pieces. Alex and Amy must prepare for Toms approaching case, which he seems to have no care for at all, and they are stretched to breaking point. After the accusations against Tom, the Inspector announces that the Mount Thomas station is to close and the Heelers start to find new jobs, facing the fact that they must leave Mount Thomas. Finally, Coopers scheme is foiled, it is announced that the station is to remain open and the Inspector leaves, very disappointed.
