Spirited photographer Frankie returns home from America for the funeral of a beloved aunt, but her reappearance throws the lives of her friends and former lovers into disarray.

Frankie visits the registrars office to solve the mysteries of her past, but she gets more than she bargained for when she takes a closer look at her parents death certificates. Cat does her best to make sure she and Sam continue to enjoy their relationships honeymoon period, a flirtatious encounter at work ends in disaster for Jay, and Tess gets a shock when she decides to pay Lou a surprise visit.

Tesss 30th birthday is approaching and shes desperate to ignore it, but her friends have other ideas. As Ed organises her surprise party his desire to tell her his true feelings reaches fever pitch, but could their friendship survive if Tess knew the truth? A work assignment brings Frankie and Cat closer together as they take a walk down memory lane, but as their feelings grow deeper a shocking revelation drives Cat back into Sams arms.

After a loved-up month on holiday in South America, Cat and Sam arrive back in Glasgow with a colossal bump. It looks like Tess finally has it all: her first proper acting role, a fabulous new flat and a gorgeous girlfriend. Frankie and Tess are struggling with the rent for their new flat and go in search of a flatmate. Frankie bumps into her former flame Sadie and offloads her troubles onto her.

Still reeling, the friends each try to deal with events in their own way. When Sam starts asking questions, Frankie makes a drastic decision. Sadie and Lexy both have surprising guests. Tess enlists Eds help with the difficult Nora, but is unprepared for the consequences.

When Sam makes an unexpected visit to the flat, a wedge is driven between her and her friends. The situation with Lexys stalker intensifies but luckily Tess is on hand to help, although Hugh proves an obstacle. Sadies relationship with Lauren heats up.
